PUBLIC NOTICE OF DISCRETIONARY USE APPLICATION
This Notice is to inform the public that Council will review an application for a Development Permit submitted by Riverbend Coop at the Regular Meeting of Council on Tuesday July 14, 2026 at 8:00am.
This Notice is going out to all assessed owners of property within 75 metres of the boundary of the property to comply with section 55 of The Planning and Development Act.
Riverbend Coop is currently evaluating the purchase of a parcel of land on the SW-23-24-08-W3, approximately 3 to 10 acres in size, for the purpose of establishing a fertilizer storage and distribution site dedicated strictly to anhydrous ammonia (NH₃). The proposed development would include the installation of an NH₃ storage bullet and compound.
The facility would be designed, constructed, and operated in full compliance with all applicable regulations and recognized industry standards, including:
- AWSA Canada requirements (https://awsa.ca/), and
- Fertilizer Canada’s standards for anhydrous ammonia storage and handling
Safety, environmental protection, and regulatory compliance are top priorities for Riverbend Coop and all aspects of the site would be engineered and operated accordingly.
If you have any concerns regarding the application please inform the RM in writing prior to July 14, 2026 or attend the Council Meeting on Tuesday July 14, 2026 at 8:00am.
